The Streak is Over...K-State beats KU at Bramlage!

After 24 years Wildcat fans can celebrate on our home court. The Jayhawks from Kansas came in here last night hoping to make that 25 years, but Michael Beasley, Bill Walker and company had something else in mind. It was such an exciting game to watch and to be apart of history. Bramlage was packed and pumpin' last night and Wildcat fans were ready to cheer and watch the streak come to an end.

Brandon and I very excited for the game to get started.

That just happened!


It was a great game to watch and one that I would have not missed. Peyton most of known that it was a big game too, becasue she was very active throughout the whole game giving me lots of kicks and moving around. The girl is already a basketball fan!

We saved our tickets and game program and Brandon is going to get Bill Walker and Michael Beasley to sign them. Another thing to add to the sports collection.

We ended up getting home around 11pm and you had the feeling that Manhattan was going to be rocking all night long. It is what everyone is talking about today and not getting a lot of work done.

30 Weeks...

How Peyton's growing:
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

29 Weeks...

How Peyton's growing:
Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. Her muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and her head is growing bigger to make room for her developing brain. To meet her increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because her bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

How long did you date? 3 years. 1 year at Graceland, 1 year apart, and 1 year in Dallas before we got married on June 25, 2005

How old is he? 27 years old

Who eats more? Brandon can eat way more food. I am lucky if I even finish my whole plate.

Who is taller? Brandon

Who sings better? Either one of us are good singers, but we sure think we can in the car!

Who is smarter? Brandon

Who does the laundry? Kelly...Brandon will help out when I ask him, but I have had lots of clothes shrink because he tried to do the laundry!

Who does the dishes? Kelly...Brandon acts like he is going to throw up if he has to touch the dirty dishes. I make him empty out the clean dishes in the dishwasher to help me out.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Brandon sleeps on the right side, but while he is gone I move over to the right.

Who pays the bills? Brandon...He is very organized and makes my life easier to not have to worry about that.

Who mows the lawn? We don't have a lawn yet, but when we do I am sure that we will share this job. We both like to mow.

Who cooks dinner? Kelly...Brandon has certain meals that he is good at cooking, so he will cook those, but other then that I cook all the meals.

Who is more stubborn? We both can be stubborn.

Who kissed who first? Brandon kissed me first.

Who asked who out? Brandon used one of my friends at Graceland to get me to start coming around him and when we went on our first date I think that it was me who asked Brandon to go to the Wednesday night movie.

Who proposed? Brandon asked me on New Year's Eve 2003!

Who has more siblings? Kelly (1 brother + 1 sister) Brandon (1 brother)

Who wears the pants in the relationship? I wouldn't say that either one of us wears the pants in the relationship. We are good at making decisions together, but if I had to make a choice between the two I would say that Brandon wears the shorts not the pants in this relationship.

28 Weeks and Belly Pics...

How Peyton's growing:
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Here are a few belly pictures for you all to see. I took them this morning before I went to work.






My belly button is hanging on strong and has not popped out yet. There are days that it feels really tight, so Brandon and I are just waiting for it to happen.


I am really starting to get much bigger. Just the little things that you take for granted are getting hard for me to do. Like putting on my shoes and socks! Seeing all of this belly is getting me very excited for Peyton to arrive, but it also makes me think about all of those hard workouts that I will be doing to get back into shape.

We are still unpacking daily to get settled into our new home. As you can tell things in the background are a little random on the mantle.

Gluclose Test...Passed!

Monday night I had to take my fruit punch gluclose test. The doctor wanted me to be under 140 and I tested at 109, so I am good and don't have to worry about anything!

I also have been having pain on my right side that hurts after I eat meals and sometimes just for no reason. We have been thinking that it has to do with my gallbladder, but since I have been having this pain for the last 2 months my doctor wanted to have my liver tested. I called this morning for the test results and everything came back normal. The pain is not always very comfortable, but I will just have to deal with it.

While I was taking my test I had my regular doctor visit and everything is looking great. I am measuring right on at 27 weeks and Peyton's heartbeat was strong at 150 bpm. She has been very active and I am sure that I felt the first hicups yesterday afternoon. It felt like a kick at first and then it happened in the same spot 5 more times in a row.

I am very thankful that all of my test came back normal and that all we have to think about is how we are going to paint the nursery.

27 Weeks...

How Peyton's growing:
This week your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14.4 inches long with his legs extended. She can now open and close her eyes, and she sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. She may suck her fingers, and although her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if she were to be born prematurely. Chalk up any rhythmic movement you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and isn't bothersome to her, so enjoy the tickle. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Wonder what she's thinking?

*I have not had any feelings yet that might make me think that they were a hiccup. I am looking forward to them, because I have heard that they are such a funny feeling that will just make me laugh.

*Be thinking of me when I go to my doctors appointment on Monday, January 14th at 5pm. This is my 28 week labs and I will be taking the glucose test. I'll let you know what happens and hopefully it will be good news and I pass.

Our little man is not so little anymore. Our nephew Jon is turning 4 years old today! Last weekend while we were home in Kansas City, Brandon and I celebrated Jon's birthday with him.

We are all singing Happy Birthday to him and he was so cute and sang along too!


Jon was very excited to open his present. I am sure that he was a little confused to why he was getting a present early, but he didn't seem to mind.


We got him his very own digital camera. He loves to take pictures, so he was very excited to have his very own camera. He was taking so many pictures and loving it!

26 Weeks...Belly Pictures

How Peyton's growing:
Your baby now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber), from head to heel. The nerve pathways in her ears are developing, which means her response to sounds is growing more consistent. Her lungs are developing now, too, as she continues to take small breaths of amniotic fluid — good practice for when she's born and takes that first breath of air.


Here are updated belly pictures that Brandon took last night right before we went to bed, so you all could see how much my belly has grown in the last few weeks. My belly button has started to feel tight, but you can see that it has not popped out yet. I am feeling great and thanks for the body pillow that Brandon got me for Christmas I have been sleeping better. I keep very mosturized and doing all that I can to avoid stretch marks, but if I get them then I get them.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to Everyone! Brandon and I are feeling old and not very exciting. We ended up falling alseep at 10pm on New Year's Eve. The only thing that I can say is that we just got back into town the night before and had been packing the whole day. We did get lots of rest and were able to get up in the morning and start packing some more. We have lots to do and only a few weeks to get it all done.

While I was in my bathroom cleaning and packing Brandon and Wrigley decided to come and hang out with me. This picture was so cute of the two of them taking a break and having a little fun together.

The best Christmas Gift Ever...We got a HOUSE!!!!

Brandon and I have been looking for sometime now for a house to bring baby Peyton home to and we are so excited that we found it and moving in on January 11th! This is our very first home and we have only lost one nights sleep after signing the paperwork...We can't wait to move in.

We are both very excited and can't wait to move into our very first home. We close on January 11th and will start moving in ASAP. I'll post updated pictures as soon as we can. Brandon has a lot of work to do and will be starting soon on Peyton's Nursery. Now that we will have the space we would love to have more visitors!

Merry Christmas...Lots of pictures from our 10 day break!

Brandon and I were so excited and looking forward to our nice break for Christmas. We took off Friday from work and heading up to Mount Ayr, IA to spend some time at Brandon's home before we took off for Illinois.

Brandon and I on Christmas day. I was not feeling well the night before with lots of cramping, so all I could do was lay down. After a good nights rest I felt so much better and was able to enjoy Christmas with the whole family.


We headed to Kansas City to have our Christmas with the Reiff Family. It was great to have the whole family there with us. Everyone had already had their Christmas on the 25th, but were able to come out again to see us on the 29th. We love you all and it meant a lot to see you during the Holidays.

Here is Lily opening up the gift that Brandon and I gave her. I could not take the picture fast enough before she was already moving on to something else. She ended up loving her doll after Brandon took it out of the box.


Brandon and I got Jonny a Spider Man Scooter for Christmas. Oh how he loved it! He could not wait until we got it out of the box and then started riding around the house on it. After riding lessons from Grandpa he was ready. He kept coming up to Brandon and I and telling us how much he loved his Scooter and thank you. So cute!

We both had such a great time getting to see lots of family and friends over the break. We both feel very lucky that we work for a University and have the time off to spend with everyone during this time. Christmas is my favorite time of year and I love that I don't have to rush through it. We both got lots of great gifts that we needed this year and baby Peyton got lots of cute clothes that she will look great in. Thank you to everyone!
