Hanging out with Mom & Dad...Bath Time!

The weather here in Manhattan was a little scary yesterday, but we went over to a friends house to take cover in their basement. I am glad that we decided to go over to their house because a tornado was spotted about 8 miles East of our house. Normally I don't have a problem with tornados, but we don't have a basement and I want to make sure that Peyton is safe. The worse that our house got was that the yard was flooded when we got back to our house last night around 8:30pm. We have had 2 nasty storms this week and we are ready for a break in the weather.

Since I went back to work this week it has been nice to come home to my beautiful baby girl and just hang out. Peyton has started giving us little smiles and I love just watching her face waiting for the next smile to happen. I am not sure yet, but I think that she might have a dimple on her left cheek.

Peyton was just kicking and kicking like crazy while laying on the floor with Dad and Wrigley getting her exercise.

Whew...What a workout! I'll just take a little nap now.

Hanging out with Mom, but the TV is way more interesting to look at then the camera.

Thanks for the help Mom while I start getting me legs stronger while I push myself to stand up. Such a serious face.

I love bath time! My face looks like I am not so happy to be in this bath tub, but really I don't mind getting clean at all.

Dad...a little privacy please!

2 months went way too fast...

Yesterday Peyton turned 2 months old. I can't believe how fast those 8 weeks flew by. She is changing all the time and I am just trying to take it all in so I don't forget this time in her life.

Here is my baby girl at 2 months.

Peyton is snuggling up with her teddy bear and showing you just how long she is getting. Peyton is very long and lean.

We go to see the doctor this coming Monday, so I will update on just how big Peyton is getting. Wish us luck because I know that Peyton is not going to enjoy this visit. We have to get lots of shots.

True Blue Tradition

Last weekend we went home to Kansas City to have our annual family garage sale. After a long successful day we decided to go to the Royals game. This was Peyton's first MLB game. She has been to so many baseball games in the last 2 months that she is a pro at sleeping through almost the whole game. The Royals won after a 12 game losing streak, so Peyton must have brought them some luck. Grandma and Grandpa Yoder also came down for the weekend to get their fix of Peyton. We had a great time and it was nice to be with the whole family for my last weekend before I had to go back to work.

This is what Peyton likes to do during baseball games...sleep.

Crazy Hair!!!

With all this hair we gets lots of attention!

OKC for the Big 12 Baseball Championships

Peyton and I packed our bags and headed to Oklahoma City, OK to stay with Dad for the Big 12 Baseball Championships. I was a little unsure of how the week was going to go since we were going to be there from Tuesday to Sunday. Also a little worried about the 5 hour drive. Peyton is a great traveler and pretty much slept for the whole week. We went to 6 baseball games and she slept during all the games. The only game that was a little tough was the championship game and I think that she was just really hot like the rest of us, so she had the right to be a little fussy. I had never been to Bricktown before and it is a great place to stay for a week to watch lots of baseball. Everything is within walking distance and we got lots of walking in during the week. We had great weather and ate tons a good food. I am glad that we went down for the week and I am very thankful that I have such a wonderful baby girl.

We drove down with the Tadtmans. Katie's husband also works for the baseball team and she has two little ones and her daughter Aubrey is a month older than Peyton. Here are the girls riding in the car on the way to OKC.

First stay in a hotel and loving the king size bed.

Craig Foster came to OKC to see us for a couple of games. It was great to see him and it was the first time that he had seen Peyton.

Kelly's First Mother's Day

I hope that all the Mom's that I know had a great Mother's Day last Sunday. I was able to travel home to spend my first Mother's day with my Mom. Brandon was out of town with the Baseball team playing Oklahoma, but made sure to celebrate Mother's Day early with Peyton and I. My wonderful husband and baby girl got me a beautiful diamond necklace. I am a lucky Mom, because Peyton's birth stone is a diamond!

Peyton and I on my first Mother's day. I am wearing the necklace that Brandon and Peyton got for me on this special day.

Peyton turns 1 Month!!!

Where did the month go? It is just crazy to me that Peyton is already a month old. We have had such a great time being home together and I hope that this next month will not go by so fast before I have to go back to work.

1 Month check-up:
Weight: 8lbs. 11oz. 18%
Height: 21 1/2 inches 67%
Head: 38cm

How Peyton is doing:
She is such a good baby and does not fuss unless there is something that she needs like...food, diaper change, and just wants to be loved and carried around.
After she eats she will fall a sleep, but sometimes she will fight sleep and we have to walk around or rock to sleep. She will also take her pacifier for a little while and likes to hold on to my fingers until she is comfortable and falls a sleep.
If she gets gas she will kick her legs like crazy and will swing her arms back and forth.
We are starting to get little smiles, but they happen when she is tired and just starting to fall a sleep. We can't wait until she will look at us and give us a huge smile.
Hair...Is not going anywhere. Peyton has not lost any hair yet and we don't have any bald spots. We sleep on our side, so I am sure that this is helping to not get a bald spot on the back of our head.

Sleep!!! Peyton is starting to sleep for 6 hours at night. For the past 5 days we have sleep for 6 hours each night and it has been so great for Mom. Last Thursday night she sleep for 8 hours for the first time and I woke up in a panic because this was the first time that she sleep for longer then 4 hours. I don't think that I jumped out of bed so fast to check on her. We are really starting to get into a great routine of sleep and nursing.
