Watching and Talking Cubs

Last night after dinner Peyton and Brandon were watching the cubs game together. Our baby girl is getting so big that she is holding herself up and is able to sit on the coach. I love all of these pictures of them talking and looking at each other. Check out those cheeks!

Traveln' Girl!

Last weekend we drove back down to Texas for a wedding reception for our friend Mike Morton. We were so excited because Scott and Shana were also going to be there from Phoenix and they have not met Peyton yet. We got into Dallas very late Thursday night and stayed with "Auntie" Tara and were happy to spend most of the day on Friday with her before we picked Scott and Shana up at the airport. We had a wonderful weekend catching up with friends and lost lots of sleep since we never went to bed before 2:30am on any night. Peyton is so wonderful and I am glad that she is such a relaxed and easy baby so we can travel and see people. We did not leave the reception until 11:30pm and for 3 hours she slept in Brandon and my arms. It was so hot in Dallas, just like it is everywhere right now, and the reception was outside so we all just had to suck it up and deal with the heat. It was one of those nights that you just had to stop fighting the sweat and to just embrace it.

We had a lot of fun on this trip and totally forgot to get the camera out. Here are a few pictures that I was able to get.

Scott Kelly is a good friend of ours that we first met while in Dallas when Brandon was getting is Masters and he is the reason that we are in Manhattan and helped Brandon get the job at KSU. He was so cute with Peyton and on Saturday morning while she was laying in her pack'n'play he just went over and picked her up. I think this picture is very cute of the two of them hanging out. Peyton has her eyes glued to the TV.

Scott & Shana...Brandon & Kelly We were so excited to see them again. It was a sad day last summer when they moved away from Manhattan. Next summer we are going to Hawaii for their Wedding that Brandon and I are both in. We can't wait and the trip is already booked!

We don't have Peyton with us in this picture because she was getting passed around to all of our friends at the reception. People were fighting over who got to hold her next!

Shana & I...Miss you so much Shana!!!!!

I love this girl so much

Last night while hanging out with Peyton before she went to bed we caught some of her great smiles on camera. I was getting some huge smiles out of her, so I quickly had Brandon grab the camera to get a couple of great snap shots.

Here is the love of our lives that makes Brandon and I so happy every single day. Now who could resist this face. I think that we are going to be in trouble with this one.

Sleep...Mom and Dad need sleep!!!

Last Friday we decided was a good time as any to start getting Peyton to go to sleep earlier. I would have liked to have done this earlier with her, but we have been on the road so much this summer and have not been home by ourselves and I didn't want to make anyone else have to suffer no sleep. On Friday night I was hoping to get her to go down at 8:30pm, but it was more like 9:30pm before she went to sleep. Brandon and I were both surprised and happy when we woke up at 6am and had not heard anything out of her all night. We were thinking this is great and maybe won't be so bad. Oh how wrong we were! On Saturday I was more successful in getting Peyton to fall a sleep before 9pm, but then 4am hit and Peyton was not a happy baby anymore. The same on Sunday, bang 4 am not a happy baby. Again this morning I was up at 3:34am. I have been good at letting her cry (Dad couldn't take it on Sunday and messed things up by holding her while they slept in the recliner...Mom didn't know this until I went in and saw them) I will pick her up and comfort her for a little bit until she calms down and she will take her pacifier. This only works for a couple of minutes and then the crying starts again. So the last couple of nights I have been sleeping in her room from 4am until 6am on the comfy recliner and this morning I ended up on the floor because my back was hurting so bad. I know that we will all get through this very soon and things will be wonderful again. If anyone has any suggestions or advice that worked for them I have no problems listening. Please be thinking of us while we are going through this not so fun stage.

Here are some pictures of Peyton this week.

Yesterday I can home from work to see Peyton looking wiped out. She must of had an exciting and rough day at home with Dad. We are still working on getting all the crude out of her right eye. Lots of massages everyday even if she doesn't like it.

Peyton after getting her bath last night. One of the parents from the baseball team gave this K-State Powercat bath towel with her name on it. It is so cute!
We really need to work on getting more pictures of her with a smile and not so serious face. Check out those blue eyes!

Peyton and Daddy while Mommy was home for lunch today. This is one of the new outfits that Grandma Yoder got her over the weekend. We went to JC Penny and got all kinds of good things for next summer, but this was to cute to pass up for this summer.

Sunglasses...Thanks it's about time!

If you have noticed from the earlier post that we didn't have sunglasses for Peyton. Well now we do! We had a choice of 2 different kinds so we went ahead and got both of them.

Peyton looking cool in her jogging stroller and ready to go out with Mom. I am running in the KC 1/2 Marathon in October and we started training on Friday. We are starting off slow and I think that it is going to take a little bit to get back to running 4 miles with ease. Doesn't Peyton look so cute!?

She looked so cute and we were so excited to get them on her that we didn't even take the sticker off.

Here are the sporty wrap arounds. I love how her face looks like "What the heck is on my face?" or I am giving you my tough stare down.

Laughs and Wiped Out

Last night while watching the Home Run Derby and playing with Peyton to get her to give us big smiles she started to laugh. She has been making some noise here and there, but nothing that is much of a laugh until last night. It was so cute and Grandma Yoder was swinging her towards Daddy and Peyton was giving huge smiles and making lots of noise. It was fun to hear.

Enjoy Peyton laughing!

After all the fun Peyton was wiped out and ready for bed.

Yoder Look-alike Meter

My sister did this on her blog so I thought that I would try it out. It is a little bit of a shocker. I guess I need to think that Peyton looks more like me, but I still think that she is all her Daddy.
