Lots of pictures from the past week

Peyton has had a great week. We made it through the first week of daycare with no problems. Peyton was only fussy on Monday night, but was great to rest of the week. Both Peyton and Renate are getting use to each other still, but Renate is learning quickly what Peyton really needs when she gives her little cries. I have added lots of pictures from this past week since I was really busy last week and was unable to post new news.

Peyton is not a happy camper in the bath. I am not sure what has happened for her to hate taking baths, but I have added a video at the end of this post so you can see just how unhappy she is about this whole thing.
Tummy time!

Peyton is getting so much better at playing on her tummy and not fussy about it. She is getting so much stronger and is able to keep her head up.

Hanging out in my Bumbo working on getting stronger so I can sit up on my own one day.

Peyton and Mommy watching the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics Friday night.

Taking a nap Saturday morning with my doggy blanket that Uncle Drew got for me. Peyton loves this dog blanket so much that she will cuddle up with it and fall asleep.

Peyton has found her tongue! Now when we get big smiles we get the tongue with it too. I am working on getting a picture of this, but Peyton just looks at the camera with this face most of the time.

Peyton has always loved to stand up from the time that she was only a month old. We knew that we had a strong baby since while we were still in the hospital she was already trying to hold her head up. Peyton is a happy baby when we let her stand up to see what is going on around her and last night Brandon let her stand on her own on the coach last night before bedtime. Here is are big girl standing up on her own for a few seconds.

I didn't think that the picture would cut it, so here is a video of the whole thing.

Good thing Dad was close by and we had pillows around, but no worries she was just fine after the face plant.

Peyton not happy about taking a bath!

Again no worries she was just fine as soon as I took her out.

Peyton goes to Daycare

Today was the first day for Peyton to go to her Daycare. She was very happy when I left and I was hearing her coo to Renate. I am doing alright today and it was easier because I had everything ready to go this morning so when I dropped her off we went over things quickly. I thought that I would be alright since I have been back to work for 2 months, but it was still hard and I needed to get out quickly before the water works started. It was very nice this morning because Peyton was wide awake and was giving us big smiles and little laughs while we hung out for a little while.

Peyton and I this morning before we left for Daycare. Her face doesn't look so happy, but she was just fine. I am sure that she is wishing just like me that I could stay at home with her all day.

Swimming

On Sunday we were in Kansas City to celebrate birthdays for Peyton's Aunts Elsa and Stacy. The party was at Uncle Michael and Aunt Elsa's new house on a scorcher of a day so we went swimming in their pool. The pool was great and it was fun to watch the cousins swim together with the help from Grandpa.

Peyton swimming with Grandpa Reiff and Cousin Audrey.

Jon making good splashes while Audrey is trying to take a dive. Peyton just sat there and I think that she could have fallen asleep.

My nephew Jon having a lot of fun in the pool and it was so exciting to watch him put his head under the water.

Peyton soaking up the sun with Grandpa and looking like it is time to go inside and take a nap.

Peyton turned 4 Months old on Saturday

Peyton turned 4 months old on Saturday. She is getting so big and everyday there is something new that just puts a big smile on our faces.

Things that Peyton is doing:
*Coos and Awes
*Rolls over onto her belly and sometimes back onto her back.
*Gives little laughs. She opens her mouth so big and one of these days I know that she will just let out a huge laugh.
* Reaches out to grab for things with both hands.
* Loves to suck on her fingers and tries to put her whole hand in her mouth.
* While holding and looking at her she will reach out and touch your face. Which I really love!
* Loves to stand up with our help.
* When sitting on our laps she tries to pull herself up to a sitting position. I am sure that it won't be long before she is sitting up by herself.
* Grabbing for her feet.
* Drooling has started.

Love her smiles and those cheeks are too cute!

Peyton showing us her good side because she is really starting to lose her hair in the back and on the top left side. It is so sad:(

No more smiles just drooling.

Sleep is Good!

Peyton has been sleeping through the night for the past week! We are getting close to 8-9 hours of sleep every night. It has been a very smooth process. We only had to listen to her cry herself to sleep for three nights. The only problem that we get into is that Peyton will roll over onto her belly and get mad, but I know that she can roll back over if she wants to.

We are excited for Peyton to start daycare on Monday because we feel that we are very fortunate to have found such a great place for her. This afternoon I went over to the daycare to drop off papers and talk about what we needed to do to make things go smoothly on Monday morning. I know that we are going to go through a transition period with her getting use to everything, but Peyton is a good baby that seems to adjust to things very well. She is going to a home daycare and will be the only baby out of six kids. The older children were very excited to see Peyton and have been counting the days down until she joins them at daycare.

Our summer officially is over this Monday as football practice starts at K-State. Now our schedules will get very hectic until Christmas. Feel free to come visit anytime as we always love to have visitors.

Watching and Talking Cubs

Last night after dinner Peyton and Brandon were watching the cubs game together. Our baby girl is getting so big that she is holding herself up and is able to sit on the coach. I love all of these pictures of them talking and looking at each other. Check out those cheeks!

Traveln' Girl!

Last weekend we drove back down to Texas for a wedding reception for our friend Mike Morton. We were so excited because Scott and Shana were also going to be there from Phoenix and they have not met Peyton yet. We got into Dallas very late Thursday night and stayed with "Auntie" Tara and were happy to spend most of the day on Friday with her before we picked Scott and Shana up at the airport. We had a wonderful weekend catching up with friends and lost lots of sleep since we never went to bed before 2:30am on any night. Peyton is so wonderful and I am glad that she is such a relaxed and easy baby so we can travel and see people. We did not leave the reception until 11:30pm and for 3 hours she slept in Brandon and my arms. It was so hot in Dallas, just like it is everywhere right now, and the reception was outside so we all just had to suck it up and deal with the heat. It was one of those nights that you just had to stop fighting the sweat and to just embrace it.

We had a lot of fun on this trip and totally forgot to get the camera out. Here are a few pictures that I was able to get.

Scott Kelly is a good friend of ours that we first met while in Dallas when Brandon was getting is Masters and he is the reason that we are in Manhattan and helped Brandon get the job at KSU. He was so cute with Peyton and on Saturday morning while she was laying in her pack'n'play he just went over and picked her up. I think this picture is very cute of the two of them hanging out. Peyton has her eyes glued to the TV.

Scott & Shana...Brandon & Kelly We were so excited to see them again. It was a sad day last summer when they moved away from Manhattan. Next summer we are going to Hawaii for their Wedding that Brandon and I are both in. We can't wait and the trip is already booked!

We don't have Peyton with us in this picture because she was getting passed around to all of our friends at the reception. People were fighting over who got to hold her next!

Shana & I...Miss you so much Shana!!!!!
