25 Weeks

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Not really any new news to report. I am feeling great, but starting to feel very big at times. This baby girl is growing and the best time of day that I can really feel her kicking is at night. I am still sleeping well with no problems and try to get as much rest as I can.

Dance Party!

Is Daddy Home?

I love how cute Peyton is every time she hears the garage door go up and she knows that it is her Daddy. Telling Brandon how cute she is didn't cut it, so I was ready last Friday with the camera to record Peyton's face while she listens to the garage door open and waits for her Daddy to walk in the door.

Cute Peyton Story

Here is a cute Peyton story that happened last night that I wanted to share with you all.

Last night we were talking with Grandma and Grandpa Yoder on Skype and to get Peyton talking we were asking her all kinds of different questions and having her say names of people in our family. One of the topics that we started talking about was basketball and asking her who the guys are on the team. (If you are a K-State fan you will understand this, but for those that are not I hope that it is still a cute story to you.) Brandon asked her about Jacob and she couldn't just say Jacob it was "Jacob Pullen" Pullen is his last name. Every time we said his name she always had to add his last name. The one that really got Brandon and I laughing mainly out of shock was when we asked her about Denis Clemente and she said "Denis Clemente for 3!" This just proves to us that this girl is a HUGE K-State fan and has been to so many basketball games that she remembers what the PA Announcer says after Denis makes a 3-pointer.

Peyton is one funny smart girl that makes us laugh when we are not expecting it. Love her!

24 Week Update

How your baby's growing:Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

I went yesterday for my monthly check-up and everything looks great for both the baby and me. Baby Girl Yoder is growing and we are right on track with my belly measurements. Her heart was beating at 153-156 bpm and sounded very strong. Peyton went with me to this appointment since they are very quick and that way she could hear her baby sister. She was very cute and pointed to my belly once we heard the heartbeat and said "Baby Sister" when I asked her if she was hearing the heartbeat.

My next appointment is in a month when I have to go have my glucose test. I am just hoping that it goes as well has it did last time and that the fruit cocktail test okay again to me.

Happy Valentine's Day Weekend

We had another busy weekend, but it was a great one filled with lots of LOVE for Valentine's Day. When I picked Peyton up at Daycare on Friday she had her hands full of goodies that she received from her friends. Renate gave her a teddy bear and she took it everywhere with her this weekend.
On Saturday we had a relaxing morning waiting for my parents to get in town to go to the K-State basketball game that night. The Cats beat Colorado so that made us all happy, but it makes Brandon's job easier with a win.
We woke up to snow Sunday morning and it was nice to take our time before we headed for a Valentine's breakfast with my parents before they headed home. I am very thankful that we did take our time because there was a bad accident on I70 that had them stopped on the highway for 2 hours waiting for the clean up instead of being involved in the 40 car pileup. It was a long drive home for them, but we are counting our blessings that they made it home safely with no problems.
We spent the rest of the day on Sunday has a family. Brandon did have to go into work for a little while, but it was during Peyton's nap so she didn't notice. Peyton and I made some Valentine's Day cookies and she loved being able to help me out. Of course we did some family dancing that Peyton loves to do so much and just loved on each other all day long. It was a nice treat to get to have a little family time together during this busy time of year for Brandon.
